My work has and continues to evolve with a special interest in exploring gender roles. I explore my dwelling places within the boundaries of social and gender stereotypes with informed interactions between objects, images, and viewers. Utilizing multiple media as a response to my struggle with the expressive and oppressive traditions within gender roles, I desire to create a point of plurality where long-held assumptions once lived.
Louis Bourgeois once said, What counts, our whole purpose, is to try to understand what we are about, to scrutinize ourselves. Art is an aid to this. It is my intention not only to analyze myself through my art work but to encourage the viewer to examine his or her unspoken fears.
